We are delighted to introduce Yao Xiao, the latest addition to our roster of talented artists! A recent graduate, Yao was born and raised in Tianjin, a major harbor city in Northern China.
Yao earned her BFA at the School of Visual Arts where she developed a passion for graphic novels and narrative art. Yao's real strength is storytelling.Yao just completed an impressive spread for this week's Entertainment Weekly Fall Preview (below), portraying three eccentric pop stars-- Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry. The theme was 'Mothers of Reinvention' which was a perfect premonition to Miley's 'interesting' performance at this year's VMAs. This was Yao's first time illustrating a spread and she was thrilled to incorporate her signature elements in this bold editorial piece.
The recent double-page spread for the Robb Report depicts the upper class in China embarking the global consumer train.
